Interactive Module for UC Berkeley Faculty Transitioning to Canvas

I designed this interactive self-paced module for UC Berkeley faculty to ease their way into the Canvas learning management system. The module allows faculty to create their Canvas courses, transfer content from their old course site, and add people to their course. Canvas's official name in UC Berkeley is bCourses.

Counseling Video: The Scaling Question

The scaling question is a counseling technique that allows uncovering people's strengths and helps clarify goals and define a path towards achieving those goals. This technique was part of a counseling workshop I used to provide for HIV service providers. My fellow graduate students at SFSU, Sarah and Robert, graciously agreed to be part of this video, and they did a great job showing what the scaling question can do. Robert achieved his dream to work as a teacher abroad a few years later.

Strengths-Based Counseling Booklet

I worked as a trainer and capacity builder for human service providers extensively. The strengths-based approach has been one of my core values and motivation in the field of human services. This booklet is a bright, colorful, and short summary of the basic concepts. It is intended to clarify and, hopefully, inspire social service providers to embrace this perspective.
